The Audio Research Reference 1 preamplifier is a premium vacuum tube line stage with remote control, designed for audiophiles seeking exceptional sound quality. It uses eight specially selected 6922/E88CC dual-triode tubes in an all-triode circuit with low gain per stage for excellent linearity and high headroom, capable of delivering up to 30V RMS balanced output with very low distortion. The preamplifier supports multiple inputs including Tape, Tuner, Phono, CD, Video, and three Aux inputs, all available in both balanced XLR and single-ended RCA connections. It features a frequency response of 1Hz to 200kHz ±0.5dB, distortion under 0.015% at 4V RMS balanced output, and a high signal-to-noise ratio of 110 dB (IHF weighted). The unit includes advanced power supply regulation with multiple isolated stages and toroidal transformers to minimize noise and interference.
