The Audio Research CD-3 is a premium CD player designed to deliver exceptional audio quality. It features a bitstream digital-to-analog converter and a high-current pure class A analog output stage, allowing it to be used directly with a line-level preamplifier or amplifier. The CD-3 supports both balanced and single-ended outputs, with the balanced option providing superior noise cancellation and sound quality. It uses a 3-beam LDGU optical pickup and accepts both 5-inch and 3-inch discs. The player is built with mechanical damping and sits on tuned polymer feet to minimize vibration-induced noise.
