About the Rhea

The Audio Physic Rhea is a high-end powered subwoofer using two 10.5-inch Vifa coated-paper-cone woofers on opposite sides of the cabinet in a push-push configuration to reduce cabinet vibration and distortion. It incorporates a 300 W internal amplifier with a velocity-feedback circuit and provides a frequency response of 10 Hz to 80 Hz (+/-3 dB), with adjustable upper roll-off points selectable at 35 Hz, 46 Hz, or 61 Hz for optimal integration with main speakers. Maximum output is specified at 98 dB at 10 Hz and greater than 110 dB from 30 Hz upward, making it suitable for rooms approximately 125 to 1050 square feet with average ceiling height. The heavily braced, well-damped enclosure measures 29 inches (H) by 18.5 inches (W) by 18.5 inches (D) and weighs about 40 kg. User controls include level and crossover adjustment and room-size compensation, along with auto signal-sensing power on/off. The Rhea is noted for its exceptionally deep, clean bass and its ability to integrate seamlessly with high-quality loudspeakers without adding audible coloration.
