The Audio Physic Avanti Century is a three-way loudspeaker introduced in 2000, designed with a slender front baffle and side-firing woofers. It measures approximately 44 inches in height, 7.5 inches in width, and 16 inches in depth, weighing around 200 lbs per pair. The cabinet features stressed-skin construction with rounded front baffle and is finished in fine wood veneers. The baffle is slanted seven degrees to achieve driver time coherence and reduce crossover effects. The midrange and treble drivers are elastomer-decoupled from the inner cabinet to reduce vibrations. The tweeter is a soft-dome SEAS unit with a wider dispersion pattern and extended lower frequency response compared to previous models. The midrange driver is specially designed for the Avanti, constructed from three materials for optimal performance. Bass is handled by four 6-inch paper-cone side-firing woofers in a push-push configuration within a sealed enclosure, delivering a frequency range of 32Hz to 27kHz (-3dB). Sensitivity is rated at 88dB with a nominal impedance of 4 ohms. The internal cabinet is divided into 26 subsections to minimize mechanical losses and vibrations. Recommended amplifier power is a minimum of 50 watts, with ideal room size between 210 and 460 square feet. The design emphasizes tonal accuracy, dynamic range, and soundstage, making it a highly regarded speaker for audiophiles.
