The Audio Note UK L3 phono preamplifier is a highly regarded Level 3 component featuring pure Class A operation, zero negative feedback, single-ended circuit topology, and valve rectification. It uses high-quality materials such as copper-wired output transformers with M4 IE-core, Audio Note copper foil capacitors, Takman metal film non-magnetic resistors, and Elna SILMIC cathode bypass capacitors. The L3 employs standard NOS tubes like 12AX7 and 6922, making it easy to build and maintain. It delivers superb sound quality with incredibly quiet operation, no tube rush, zero hum, and a pure black background. The power supply is an upgraded M2 version with a tube rectifier (6X5) and regulation via an ECL82 tube, ensuring ultra-quiet power supply voltages critical for vinyl playback.
