The Audio Note CDT Two/II CD Transport is a top-loading CD transport designed and manufactured by Audio Note (UK) to deliver exceptional audio fidelity from Red Book CDs. It features a custom modified Philips CD Pro2LF CD mechanism refined in-house for optimal performance. The transport is powered by a sophisticated power supply with three separate mains transformers to ensure stable and clean power delivery to different sections of the player. Internally, it uses Audio Note's proprietary AN-V silver cable for digital signal transfer and a silver-wired digital output transformer with a thin laminated core, along with Tantalum resistors and custom electrolytic capacitors, all aimed at achieving pristine sound quality. The CDT Two/II offers versatile digital output options including single-ended RCA 75 Ohm SPDIF and balanced XLR 110 Ohm AES/EBU transformer-coupled outputs, allowing seamless integration with various external DACs. It is available with either a black acrylic or silver aluminium fascia. The unit weighs 7.5 kg and measures 142mm (H) x 300mm (W) x 428mm (D). It consumes a maximum of 35W and supports mains input of AC 100-120V or 220-240V at 50/60Hz. The transport requires approximately 200 hours of operation for internal components to fully 'bed in' and reach peak sonic performance.
