The Audio Note UK CD-5.1x is a premium CD player designed to deliver exceptional audio quality. It utilizes a top-loading Philips CD Pro 2LF CD mechanism, which is custom-modified by Audio Note to enhance its performance. The player features a valve rectified and regulated power supply using a 6X5 and ECL82, and its analogue output stage employs a combination of 5814a and 5687WB valves. These valves feed into a pair of renowned output transformers with SHiB cores and copper primaries and secondaries. The CD-5.1x includes both RCA and XLR balanced analogue outputs, allowing for versatile connectivity options. It also incorporates high-grade components such as non-magnetic Tantalum resistors and custom Audio Note capacitors. The optical pick-up uses a 3-beam laser with a 780nm semiconductor laser. The player offers a reference output of 1.2V RMS single-ended and 2.4V RMS balanced, with a channel balance of less than 0.2dB.
