The Audio Note UK AN E Spe Signature loudspeaker is a refined evolution of the original AN E design, featuring a two-way, rear-ported cabinet constructed from high-quality birch plywood with real wood veneer finishes. It uses an 8-inch high-efficiency hemp cone bass driver with silver voice coils and a 1-inch tweeter, delivering a sensitivity of approximately 98 dB. The crossover is hardwired, primarily first order, incorporating copper inductors and Audio Note (UK) copper foil capacitors housed in an external aluminum chassis. Internal wiring is AN-SPe silver cable, ensuring minimal signal loss. The cabinet design is optimized to complement the drivers, enhancing dispersion and bass output, and is intended for placement near room boundaries to maximize bass reinforcement. The speaker operates at 6 ohms impedance, with a frequency response of 18 Hz to 23 kHz (-6 dB in room), and is suitable for amplifiers from 7 watts RMS up to 150 watts RMS unclipped. Each speaker weighs approximately 23 kg and measures 790 mm high by 360 mm wide by 270 mm deep. The AN E Spe Signature is noted for its musicality, dynamic headroom, and ability to work well with low-power valve amplifiers as well as higher-powered solid-state units.
