The Audio Note Kits (ANK) Kits 4.1LE is a high-end, non-oversampling R-2R digital-to-analog converter kit based around the AD1865 DAC architecture. It uses transformer-coupled I/V conversion, Triple C-Core output transformers, and a tube-based 5687 output stage supplied by a tube-rectified and regulated M2 power supply. The design omits digital and analog reconstruction filtering and supports PCM sources up to 24-bit/96 kHz, depending on the fitted digital-input board. The kit was supplied with a pre-assembled digital DAC board and premium passive components, but required assembly and wiring by the purchaser. An optional USB input board was available. Current ANK listings show the related DAC 4.1/4.1x products, while some third-party distributors state that they no longer stock ANK kits; therefore, the exact original 4.1LE kit's availability is uncertain.
