The Audio Note Gaku-On monoblock power amplifier features a pure Class A parallel single-ended design utilizing New Old Stock 211 output valves (VT4-C triodes) to produce about 45 watts per channel into 4 or 8 ohm loads. It employs no negative feedback and valve rectification, with a signal path free of coupling capacitors, using silver-wired transformers for each stage. The amplifier uses high-quality components including Black Gate capacitors, Audio Note silver foil capacitors, tantalum resistors, and silver wiring throughout. The power supply is choke-smoothed and rectified by NOS 5R4WGB rectifiers. It has an input impedance of 2.4 kOhm with balanced XLR inputs, channel balance within ±0.3 dB, and weighs 27.5 kg per unit. Dimensions are 305 mm (H) x 305 mm (W) x 640 mm (D). The amplifier is designed for audiophiles seeking clean, dynamic sound with a wide soundstage and high output power, embodying Audio Note's Level 5 criteria including zero negative feedback and directly heated triode operation. The chassis is made of pure copper to enhance sound quality and liveliness. Due to its bespoke nature, it is supplied to order with a build time of approximately 8 weeks and is not available for mail order.
