The Audio-GD NFB-3 is a dedicated desktop digital-to-analog converter (DAC) from Audio-GD's non-feedback (NFB) series, designed for audiophile two-channel playback rather than portable use or all-in-one hi-res player functionality. Over its lifespan it has been released in several revisions—such as the NFB-3 (2011), NFB-3 (384K) with USB-32 asynchronous interface, and NFB-3 (2014/2015) versions based on the ESS ES9018—each refining the digital processing, power supply implementation, and input options. All iterations retain the line's core design philosophy of non-feedback, discrete analog stages, robust linear power supplies with R-core transformers, and focus on neutral, accurate sound for use with external amps or active speakers. The NFB-3 provides multiple digital inputs (typically USB plus coaxial and optical S/PDIF, with some versions adding BNC) and fixed-level stereo analog outputs (RCA, often with an additional ACSS current-mode output), offering flexible integration into hi-fi systems while keeping the signal path dedicated solely to D/A conversion without built-in headphone amplification.
