The Audio-gd Master 1 is a high-end pure Class A preamplifier designed with a fully balanced architecture using discrete analog stages and no operational amplifiers or coupling capacitors in the signal path. It employs a non-feedback ACSS analog output stage for superior sound quality. The preamp uses three R-core transformers (totaling 135W) with separate power supplies for digital components and each audio channel, supported by more than 45,000uF of audio-grade NOVER capacitors and eight groups of high-quality Class A parallel power supplies with multiple regulation stages to ensure smooth and stable power delivery. It features 5 analog inputs (2x RCA, 2x XLR, 1x ACSS) and 3 analog outputs (XLR, RCA, ACSS). The volume control is digitally relay-based with 99 steps, providing precise channel balance and avoiding imbalance issues. The Master 1 memorizes all settings and resumes the last configuration on power-up. Its design emphasizes a short and simple signal path for neutral, transparent, and natural sound reproduction, with very low distortion and high channel separation. The preamp is noted for its neutrality and transparency, though some users report a slight reduction in high-frequency resolution compared to a direct signal. Dimensions are approximately 43 cm in width and depth, and it weighs about 16 kg.
