About the Vivace
The Audio Analogue Vivace DAC is a solid-state high-resolution PCM digital-to-analog converter designed and manufactured in Italy. It is based on the Texas Instruments PCM1795DB chip and supports all PCM formats from 44.1kHz to 192kHz with word lengths up to 24-bit. The DAC offers a wide range of digital inputs including asynchronous USB, three coaxial, four optical (Toslink), and one AES/EBU input. It features both balanced (XLR) and unbalanced (RCA) analogue outputs, configurable for fixed or variable level operation, allowing it to function as a digital preamplifier. The device includes a quality headphone stage and a blue graphic LCD display with remote control for easy operation. The Vivace DAC employs a zero feedback output stage for a natural sound signature and is housed in a robust chassis measuring 8 x 44.5 x 35 cm and weighing 5 kg. It does not support DSD or Bluetooth connectivity, which are becoming more common in this price range. The DAC is praised for its sound quality and versatility as a digital preamp and DAC combination.
