The Audio Analogue Cherubini VT is an innovative tuner and USB DAC combo that functions as two separate audio sources in one unit: Tuner Mode and USBDAC Mode. Each mode has physically separated circuits to avoid interference, sharing a common analog output stage that combines an operational amplifier with a vacuum tube buffer stage. This hybrid design blends the clarity and filtering of solid state with the warm coloration of vacuum tubes. The tuner section is housed in a metal shielded box to reduce RF interference and includes a special buffer stage to further minimize noise. The USB DAC section converts USB data to SPDIF digital audio, then to analog via a high-performance Burr Brown 96kHz/24bit receiver and a 24bit/192kHz multilevel delta sigma DAC on a separate board to avoid high-frequency disturbances. The unit is powered by a toroidal transformer with dedicated voltage regulators for each section. It features a low emission display to prevent audio interference and is controlled by a microcontroller with front panel and remote switches that adapt functions based on the selected mode. The Cherubini VT is designed with carefully selected components for optimal electrical and sonic performance.
