The Audio Aero Prestige SACD is a high-quality SACD/CD player and linestage preamplifier known for its dynamic and rich sound. It features a Philips SACD mechanism mounted on an aluminum suspension, a custom S.T.A.R.S. 2 digital processing system performing 24 bit/192 kHz re-sampling and DSD to PCM conversion, and a Burr-Brown PCM1792 24 bit/192 kHz DAC. The output stage uses a 6021W tube and includes a volume attenuator, allowing it to function as a preamplifier. It offers both single-ended RCA and balanced XLR analog outputs and inputs, as well as multiple digital inputs (BNC, RCA, AES/EBU, AT&T, TOSLINK, USB) and a digital output (BNC). The chassis is made of thick aluminum for stability and vibration control. The player supports 16 bit/44.1 kHz CD audio and 2-channel SACD, with frequency response ranging from 5 Hz to 21 kHz for CD and 3 Hz to 48 kHz for SACD or 24 bit/96 kHz signals. It has a high signal-to-noise ratio of 127-129 dB and low total harmonic distortion. The built-in linestage is highly regarded, capable of driving amplifiers directly without the need for a separate preamplifier. The player weighs approximately 15 kg (33 lbs) and operates on a multi-voltage transformer (100-240 VAC, 50/60 Hz).
