The Audio Aero Capitole Mk II is a high-end top-loading CD player with an integrated digital-to-analog converter and preamplifier functionality. It accepts external digital sources through BNC, RCA coaxial, AES/EBU, AT&T optical, and TOSLINK inputs, and provides RCA and balanced XLR analog outputs together with a BNC digital output. Its analog output level is adjustable and can reach approximately 5 V RMS, allowing it to drive a power amplifier directly. Published specifications include a frequency response of 7 Hz–20 kHz with 16-bit/44.1 kHz sources and 3 Hz–48 kHz with 24-bit/96 kHz sources, a 125 dB signal-to-noise ratio, and less than 0.3% total harmonic distortion. The chassis uses a steel case with a brushed-aluminum lid, and the unit weighs approximately 32.6 pounds.
