The Audeze CRBN2 is Audeze's flagship over-ear, open-back electrostatic headphone, using second-generation push-pull electrostatic transducers with an ultra-thin carbon nanotube-infused polyimide diaphragm and Audeze's patent-pending SLAM (Symmetric Linear Acoustic Modulator) technology to deliver unusually powerful, tactile bass for an electrostatic design, reduced distortion, and holographic spatial imaging. The SLAM system is a passive acoustic modulator focused on enhancing deep bass between roughly 10-50 Hz, with about a 6 dB boost around 20-30 Hz compared with the original CRBN. CRBN2 is a circumaural, open-back design requiring a compatible 580 VDC Stax Pro Bias electrostatic amplifier/energizer, connected via a 2.5 m OCC monocrystal copper cable terminated in a 5-pin Pro Bias connector. Build and comfort are premium, with housing materials including magnesium, carbon fiber, stainless steel, polymer acetate, and premium leather earpads, plus a carbon-fiber and leather headband. Audeze's official spec lists a weight of 480 g (some retailers list 300 g based on alternate spec sheets). The headphones are hand-assembled by Audeze and positioned as their flagship electrostatic model.
