About the UV-1

The Atma-Sphere UV-1 (UltraViolet) preamplifier is based on a circuit developed over decades, originally used as a modification to the Dynaco PAS-3. It features a simple, zero-feedback line section using 6SN7 dual triodes and a phono section using 12AT7 tubes. The preamp is available in several configurations including a basic line stage, a headphone power amplifier, and versions with MM or MC phono capabilities, the latter using Jensen step-up transformers for low output moving coil cartridges. It is hand-wired with precision components, housed in a heavy-duty seamless aluminum chassis with vintage styling. The UV-1 offers excellent sonic performance, with a wide frequency response, accurate RIAA equalization, and a dynamic, spacious sound signature. It is known for its refined sound quality that rivals preamps costing several times more, making it a cost-effective entry-level offering from Atma-Sphere. The unit includes four inputs, Cardas RCA connectors, and a shunt-style balance control. It comes with a three-year transferable warranty and one year on tubes.
