About the AK500N

The Astell&Kern AK500N is a high-end desktop network audio player and music server with a 7-inch touchscreen, built-in CD ripping, DLNA networking, and internal SSD storage. Its isolated battery-powered design separates the audio circuitry from power-supply noise. The AK500N uses dual Cirrus Logic CS4398 DACs in a dual-mono configuration and supports PCM audio up to 32-bit/384kHz, plus native DSD64 and DSD128 playback. Compatible formats include WAV, FLAC, WMA, MP3, OGG, APE, AAC, ALAC, AIFF, DFF, and DSF. It provides fixed and variable analog outputs, along with AES/EBU, BNC, coaxial, and optical digital inputs and outputs. Storage was available in 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB configurations, with PCM-to-DSD conversion also supported.
