About the HL

The Aspara Acoustics HL is a high-end two-way full range horn loudspeaker designed for serious audiophiles. It features a 12-inch woofer sourced from Fane Acoustics, mounted in a 42-inch folded bass horn constructed from 18mm birch plywood with internal bracing. The bass horn mouth is positioned at floor level with an area of four square feet, firing towards the floor to enhance bass performance. The high frequencies are handled by a 2-inch titanium compression driver, also from Fane, feeding a radial horn molded from glass-reinforced plastic. The crossover uses a first-order high frequency and second-order bass design, including a bypass network to boost the extreme top frequencies. The cabinet is finished with high-quality veneer or custom finishes. The speaker weighs nearly 200 lbs and measures approximately 57 inches tall, 21 inches wide, and 32 inches deep. It has a frequency response from 30Hz to 20kHz and a sensitivity of 100dB/W/m. The HL is noted for its powerful, dynamic sound with some minor roughness around the edges compared to the very best horn speakers, but it is easier to place in a room and delivers an energizing listening experience. It is a premium, handcrafted speaker aimed at delivering a highly musical and involving sound experience.
