The Ascendo The16 SUB Active Sealed Subwoofer, from German manufacturer Ascendo GmbH (now Ascendo Immersive Audio), builds on the success of the The12 model to deliver a larger 16-inch active sealed subwoofer at an accessible price point. It features a forward-firing 16-inch composite cone woofer with Rohacell core sandwich construction and narrow high-roll surround for 20mm Xmax excursion each direction (40mm linear total), ensuring low distortion, high linearity, and deep bass extension in a modest-sized sealed enclosure made from internally braced HDF/MDF with black ash vinyl finish. The built-in Class D amplifier provides 1000W RMS output with dynamic headroom, linear power supply switchable 110/230V, and connectivity including balanced XLR LFE inputs (full-range, no processing), stereo RCA inputs, variable LP crossover (40-150Hz or 50-150Hz), phase 0-180°, gain/volume control, and auto on/off. Ideal for music and home theater, it offers precise, musical bass with 360° directivity. Still in production with standard and PRO passive variants also available[1][2][3][4][8][9][14].
