The Artisan Fidelity Garrard 301 Statement is a high-end restoration and upgrade of the classic English-engineered Garrard 301 idler drive turntable. It features a comprehensive mechanical rebuild including motor restoration, alignment, and optimization. The design incorporates the world's first inverted modular bearing and platter architecture, which lowers the center of gravity, reduces noise and friction, and increases resolution. The hydrodynamic inverted bearing and tiered platter design improve speed consistency across 33/45/78 rpm speeds. The modular platter allows users to select from materials such as Copper alloy, Magnesium, 7075 Aluminum, and Inox Stainless Steel to tailor playback characteristics. The original Garrard idler wheel is replaced with a precision CNC-machined austenitic steel idler wheel with a molded rubber composite running edge, improving clarity and inner resolution. Motor spindle pulleys are upgraded to precision CNC-machined Marine Brass and Austenitic Steel variants. The turntable also includes CNC-machined balanced Eddy Current Brake Discs made from heat-treated aircraft-grade 6061-T651 aluminum, ensuring minimal vibration and wobble during playback. The plinth is designed for optimal mass loading and vibration damping, supporting tonearms of 9" to 12" effective length. The instrument weighs approximately 43 kg (98 lbs) to 57 kg (136 lbs) depending on configuration. This model is renowned for its powerful, vivid sound with excellent drive and musical flow, closely approaching the quietness of belt-drive turntables while retaining the unique idler drive character.
