About the RD50
The Ariston RD-50 is a 2-speed (33 1/3 and 45 rpm) belt-drive turntable with a fixed plinth design, distinguishing it from the suspended RD-60 model. It typically comes equipped with a factory-mounted Enigma tonearm (made by Jelco) and often paired with a quality cartridge such as the Shure V15 Mark IV MR or Pickering. The turntable is noted for its solid build and good sound quality, with a tonearm capable of handling high-quality moving magnet cartridges like the Grado G1042, AT440MLa, or Ortofon 2M Blue. The RD-50 has cushioned footers for vibration damping rather than a suspension system. It has been maintained well by users and is considered a good value for its performance level. The original packaging, manual, and accessories like bearing oil may be included with some units. The turntable is no longer in production but remains respected among audiophiles for its sound and build quality.
