The Aries Cerat Concero 65 Reference is the entry-level model in the three-tier Concero 65 monoblock power amplifier series, positioned below the Signature and Limited Edition versions. It is a 65W single-ended triode (SET) class A monoblock power amplifier that uses a single 814 directly heated triode as driver and a parallel pair of RCA 813 tubes in the output stage, derived from Aries Cerat's Exsequor 814-813 circuit topology. The Concero 65 Reference employs transformer coupling between stages (Aries Cerat's AC link), features adjustable bias on the fly with front-panel meters for driver and output tubes, and provides onboard output and driver monitoring. The design uses no capacitors in the signal path, instead relying on supercapacitors/film capacitors and choke-regulated banks in the power supplies for both driver and output stages. Technical highlights include 65W output power, user-selectable output impedance via an impedance-matching system, wide signal bandwidth (approximately 8-10Hz to over 100kHz at ~80% of rated power), substantial energy storage around 2000J with a large power transformer (~1,800VA), and total primary/secondary capacitance in the hundreds of thousands of microfarads, all intended to deliver high power, wide bandwidth SET performance with strong control of demanding loudspeakers and bass response.
