The Aric Audio Special 6V6 PP (EL84) is a hand-built push-pull stereo amplifier featuring two EL84 (6BQ5) tubes per channel running in pure Class A cathode bias, requiring no bias adjustments. It produces 14 watts per channel into 4 or 8 ohm loads and operates in ultra-linear mode, offering a sound quality between pentode and triode modes with full frequency response and very low residual noise (<1 mV). The amplifier includes high-quality components such as Edcor 25 watt overbuilt output transformers, a Hammond power transformer, 5U4GB tube rectifier, Wima film and foil coupling capacitors, Nichicon power supply capacitors, and gold-plated tube sockets, RCA jacks, and binding posts. It weighs about 25 lbs and is recommended for use with speakers of at least 88 dB sensitivity. The unit comes fully wired point-to-point and includes a set of Sovtek EL84s, JJ 12AT7s, and a NOS 5U4GB rectifier tube. The amplifier can also use 6V6 tubes with commercially available EL84 to 6V6 adapters. It is covered by a 2-year parts and labor warranty and is built to high standards ensuring durability and excellent sound performance.
