About the rPhono
The Arcam rPhono is a dedicated phono preamplifier designed to replace built-in phono amps or add a turntable connection to existing systems. It supports both moving magnet (MM) and moving coil (MC) cartridges, featuring adjustable input impedance for MC (50-550Ω) and adjustable input capacitance for MM (120, 220, 340, or 440pF). The unit includes a selectable rumble filter to reduce low-frequency noise from warped records. It uses precision RIAA filter response and high-end audio circuitry housed in a stylish cast aluminum case. The rPhono employs multiple low-noise, individually regulated power supplies and a multi-layer PCB optimized for low noise and minimal distortion, delivering a clean, detailed signal. Gain settings for MM are 30, 40, 50, or 52dB, and for MC are 60, 70, 80, or 82dB. The device has a frequency response of 20Hz–50kHz ±0.2dB (rumble filter off) and weighs 1.1kg with dimensions 194 x 44 x 124 mm. It was released around late 2016 and is now discontinued.
