The Aqua La Voce S3 Discrete DAC is a pure R2R ladder DAC using proprietary FPGA-based digital decoding without any digital filtering, preserving the original digital samples for faithful sound reproduction. It features a sign-magnitude ladder converter and a fully discrete analog stage with no op-amps, ensuring natural, fast, and dynamic audio without compression. The DAC supports PCM up to 384kHz/24-bit and DSD64/DSD128 via DoP on all inputs. It includes galvanic isolated S/PDIF and AES/EBU digital inputs, a jitter-free AQlink (I2S protocol) interface, and a modular design allowing hardware and firmware upgrades. The analog outputs include RCA single-ended and XLR balanced asymmetrical connections. The unit is handmade in Italy and comes with a 5-year warranty. It requires an external preamplifier or volume control as it has no adjustable analog output level or streaming capabilities.
