The APL Hi-Fi DSD-MR MK2 DAC is a handmade boutique digital-to-analog converter crafted for the most enthusiastic audiophiles. It delivers analogue-like sound quality comparable to state-of-the-art vinyl and reel-to-reel machines. The DAC supports PCM up to 384kHz/32bit, DSD128 in DoP format, and up to DSD512 in NativeDSD format, accepting both 44.1kHz and 48kHz based DSD data. It features a proprietary asynchronous USB input module and a proprietary PCM to DSD converter module with user-selectable DSD128 and DSD256 capabilities. The analog output stage is a differential transformer-coupled Class-A tube stage using ECC99 tubes, with zero negative feedback, no op amps, and no mechanical switches or relays in the signal path. The design is modular for future upgrades. The DAC includes a large Noritake FLD display with selectable color filters (red, blue, green), microprocessor control with last settings memory, and an aluminum infrared remote control. The enclosure is all-aluminum with a machined 20mm thick front panel. It comes with a 2-year warranty (6 months for tubes) and optional 3-year extension excluding tubes.
