About the DS3

The Antipodes Audio DS3 is a medium‑power music server and player introduced in 2016 as a cut‑down version of the flagship DX3, designed to provide high‑quality digital music playback and storage for audiophile systems. It uses a single‑computer architecture that is intentionally balanced to handle both server and player roles, provided the user does not rely on the most demanding DSP features of Roon Server or HQPlayer Embedded. The DS3 includes an in‑built CD ripper, two internal bays for user‑selectable HDD or SSD storage, and offers USB and analog audio outputs, allowing flexible connection to external DACs or analog systems. It is designed to work with a range of external power supplies, and its chassis and electronics follow Antipodes’ focus on low‑noise, vibration‑controlled construction to optimize sonic performance. The DS3 has been moved to Antipodes’ legacy range and is no longer manufactured, though it may still be supported within Antipodes’ trade‑in and upgrade programs.
