The Ampex MR-70 is a professional-grade analog tape recorder that was produced in limited quantities, with estimates suggesting fewer than 80 units were built. It is renowned for its high-quality audio reproduction and is often considered alongside other legendary tape recorders like the Telefunken M10 and Studer C37. The MR-70 supports multiple tape speeds, including 7.5 and 15 inches per second (ips), and offers various equalization options such as NAB, CCIR, and AME. It features Nuvistor electronics and is compatible with standard 1/4-inch tapes.
