About the Grand 1800

The Ambience Grand 1800 loudspeaker incorporates a robust crimped metal ribbon tweeter and two 180mm SEAS long throw woofers arranged in a rear ported bass reflex cabinet. It features a complex 18dB/octave third order crossover at 420Hz designed to be inaudible by operating at frequencies less sensitive to human hearing. The system has a nominal impedance of 4 ohms and a high sensitivity of 96dB at 1 meter with 2.83 volts input, making it suitable for amplifiers from 10 watts up to 150 watts RMS per channel. The Grand 1800 includes an active 10-inch metal cone subwoofer powered by a 200 watt RMS adjustable amplifier, extending bass response down to 22Hz. The speakers produce a huge, three-dimensional dipolar soundstage with exceptional clarity, realism, and smoothness at high volume levels due to the natural roll-off above 18kHz of the ribbon tweeter. Internal components include high-quality Hovland capacitors and Analysis Plus cabling. The speakers measure approximately 1780mm tall by 260mm wide and are best suited for larger listening rooms. They have a proven track record of reliability with virtually no failures over 20 years.
