About the R/T-2
The AM Hiend R/T-2 preamplifier uses an all-tube, Class-A circuit with zero feedback, employing four long-life tubes (2 x 6H30 as drivers and 2 x 6922 as amplifiers). It features a dual mono design with independent regulated power supplies for each channel, enhancing reliability and linearity. The volume control is a transformer-based system with 33 steps, providing a quiet and natural sonic background with rich musical detail. The design is single-ended, which offers a more natural and dynamic sound compared to balanced designs. The unit uses MOSFETs for voltage stabilization and constant current supply, U-cap capacitors in the signal path, and high-quality gold-plated binding posts and RCA jacks. Wiring includes Japanese-made POCC rectangular solid core copper wire and Teflon insulation. The chassis is precision matched aluminum alloy with exceptional build quality. This preamplifier is versatile, able to electrically match various sources, amplifiers, and interconnects due to its fully magnetic transformer design. It delivers striking clarity and detail, presenting instrumental timbres and textures in a lifelike manner, and is noted for its reliability and aesthetic appeal.
