The KR-1610 SE power amplifier from Allnic Audio is a high-performance, single-ended Class A amplifier featuring the massive KR-1610 triode tubes. It is a special order built amplifier designed to deliver pure, high-fidelity sound with a power output of approximately 50 watts per channel when used in single-ended mode with KR-242 driver tubes. The amplifier employs a purist signal amplification approach with ultra-short signal paths and carefully selected high-quality components such as Mundorf silver/gold foil capacitors, WIMA capacitors, and precision non-magnetic metal film resistors. The driver stage includes a high-level JFET input stage operating at 100V for exceptional dynamics and low noise, followed by a MOSFET current supplier to the KR-1610 tube grids. The design emphasizes minimal distortion, wide bandwidth (up to 250 kHz without feedback), and a signal-to-noise ratio exceeding 120 dB, delivering a rich tonal coloration, excellent dynamic range, and superb detail. The amplifier is physically substantial, weighing around 20 kg per monoblock, with dimensions approximately 440mm wide, 370mm deep, and 260mm high. It is regarded as combining the best qualities of tube and solid-state sound, offering speed, excellent bass response, and superb dynamic range.
