The Allnic AUT-2000 is a premium step-up transformer (SUT) that elevates the output of low-level Moving Coil (MC) cartridges to the level of Moving Magnet (MM) cartridges, allowing use with MM phono inputs on preamps or integrated amplifiers. It employs large nickel/permalloy core transformers with a five-section sandwich winding to reduce leakage inductance and capacitance, resulting in deeper bass and improved high-frequency response. The transformers are mounted on silicone elastomer pads within a solid aluminum alloy block to minimize mechanical vibrations. The AUT-2000 features separate gain selectors for each channel to prevent crosstalk and offers four gain settings to accommodate various MC cartridge outputs. It operates passively, requiring no external power supply, and is noted for its very low distortion and quiet background noise. The unit measures 160×113×57mm, weighs 1.86 kg, and is highly regarded for its transparent, natural sound that preserves the integrity of the cartridge and phono stage without adding distortion or coloration.
