About the ATH-3
The Air Tight ATH-3 is a step-up transformer specifically designed for moving coil (MC) phono cartridges, offering a high step-up ratio of 1:40 (32dB gain) at low impedance mode. It is suitable for cartridges with an impedance range of 1Ω to 7Ω, with an optional high impedance model for 7Ω to 40Ω available as a factory setting. The transformer features a compact and robust design with a pure copper transformer holder, thick aluminum front panel, and a monocoque chassis to enhance signal linearity and musical dynamics. It is compatible with both vacuum tube and solid-state phono equalizer amplifiers.
