About the Metis

The Aesthetix Metis is a high-end vacuum-tube stereo line preamplifier (linestage), not a phono preamplifier, DAC, streamer, or power amplifier. It uses Aesthetix Coupling Modules (ACMs) instead of conventional interstage and output coupling capacitors, with one ACM per channel. The design is fully balanced, true dual-mono, zero-feedback, and uses four tubes—two per channel—for all amplification. Single-ended inputs are internally balanced, and the discrete switched-resistor volume control provides precise level adjustment. Its suspended inner-core chassis houses an effectively isolated power-supply assembly, while HRS Nimbus Couplers provide mechanical damping. Features include remote control, phase inversion, home-theater bypass, 12 V trigger control, and RS-232 automation. Aesthetix continues to list Metis in its current linestage and dealer/support materials; therefore, it is not identified as no longer manufactured based on the available manufacturer information.
