The Aesthetix Romulus Eclipse VC is an advanced version of the Romulus CD player/DAC featuring a hybrid volume control (VC) that operates both in the digital and analog domains to avoid resolution loss during attenuation. It supports digital inputs including AES/EBU, RCA coaxial, Toslink optical, and USB with PCM up to 24 bit/384 kHz and DSD64/DSD128 via USB. The Eclipse upgrade includes the replacement of coupling capacitors with high-quality Stealthcap capacitors, transformer isolation mounts to reduce mechanical vibration, Nimbus Couplers for improved mechanical isolation, enhanced power supply with better heat dissipation and noise reduction, and a single-point grounding system for reduced ground noise. The unit measures 11 cm in height, 46 cm in width, and 46 cm in depth, weighs approximately 13.6 kg with packaging, and consumes 25 W in standby and 70 W under load. It delivers a maximum output of 2.4 V RMS single-ended (RCA) and 4.8 V RMS balanced (XLR) with an output impedance of 300 ohms on XLR.
