The Aerial Acoustics Model 8b is a refined version of the Model 8 loudspeaker featuring a crossover network built on two large glass fiber circuit boards with upgraded components. It is a three-way, floorstanding loudspeaker equipped with a 1" titanium-dome tweeter, a 7.1" paper/composite-cone midrange, and a 10.7" woofer. The crossover points are set at 250Hz and 2.5kHz, delivering a frequency response of 28Hz to 22kHz (±2dB) with -6dB at 23Hz. The speaker has a nominal impedance of 6 ohms (minimum 3.5 ohms) and a sensitivity of 86dB/2.83V/m on-axis. It requires a minimum of 50W power, with over 100W recommended for optimal performance. The cabinets are Danish-built, mirror-imaged pairs with book-matched veneers for symmetry, finished to a very high standard, often in rosewood as a premium option. Dimensions are 45" high by 9" wide by 20" deep, and each speaker weighs 120 lbs.
