About the 10T V2

The Aerial Acoustics Model 10T v2 is a high-end three-way, floorstanding dynamic loudspeaker with a bass-reflex (ported) enclosure and a separate tweeter/midrange head module. The design uses independently optimized enclosures: a substantial vented bass cabinet with thick, heavily braced MDF walls, and an upper "head" for the midrange and tweeter that is cast from high-density Novalith™ acoustical composite, making it extremely inert and non-resonant. The Novalith head is a complex, faceted shape that mounts on a steel post above the bass enclosure and can be rotated to optimize imaging at the listening position, while the bass cabinet uses a large rear-firing port and rigid construction for clean low-frequency output. The 10T v2 employs custom-designed drivers: a 1" titanium-dome tweeter with a large rear chamber, a 5.3" (136 mm) dual Kevlar/epoxy-laminated cone midrange, and a 10.7" (271 mm) bilaminate composite-cone woofer. The midrange and woofer use cast magnesium frames, large vented magnet structures, and long linear excursions to maintain low distortion and high power handling over their operating ranges. The crossover is a fourth-order (24 dB/octave) Linkwitz-Riley acoustic network with crossover points at 360 Hz and 2.7 kHz, using precision components including polypropylene capacitors, air-core inductors with low-oxygen copper windings, high-current nickel-steel-core inductors in the bass section, and 99.997% pure copper internal wiring on separate glass-epoxy circuit boards for bass and mid/treble sections. Performance specifications include a frequency response of 28 Hz-20 kHz (-2 dB, -6 dB at 23 Hz), sensitivity of 86 dB (2.83 V/1 m), and nominal impedance of 4 Ω (3 Ω minimum). Recommended amplifier power is 50 W minimum, with >100 W suggested for best dynamic performance. The 10T v2 is bi-wirable/bi-ampable with two pairs of gold-plated five-way binding posts at the bottom of the bass cabinet. A 6"-tall, sand-fillable dedicated stand for the bass cabinet is available as an option. Cabinet dimensions are approximately 41.5" H x 13.75" W x 19" D, shipping in three cartons at a total weight around 190 lb. The system is voiced for high transparency, accurate tonal balance, strong dynamics, precise imaging, and authoritative, well-controlled bass, with a clear, natural midrange and refined, extended treble.
