About the 7B

The Aerial Acoustics 7B is a three-way, four-driver, bass-reflex floorstanding loudspeaker designed for listeners who prioritize accurate tonal balance, wide dynamic range, and solid low-frequency performance. It uses two 7.1-inch (180 mm) woofers, one 5-inch (125 mm) midrange, and one 1-inch (25 mm) titanium-dome tweeter in a slender tower cabinet. The cabinet is built from 1- and 2-inch MDF with extensive internal bracing and constrained-layer damping to minimize resonance and coloration, and is offered in high-quality architectural veneers including black ash, cherry, maple/bird's-eye maple, and rosewood. The woofers and midrange employ cast magnesium-alloy frames and damped bilaminate composite cones with large, vented magnet structures and long-stroke voice coils to deliver quick, deep bass and a clear, natural midrange. The tweeter is a precision titanium dome with a large magnet, deep rear chamber, and multiple vents to extend high-frequency response while maintaining smooth, detailed treble. A high-order passive crossover at 400 Hz and 2.7 kHz (24 dB per octave) is implemented on independent glass-epoxy circuit boards with air-core inductors, polypropylene capacitors, high-purity copper wiring, and silver-soldered connections. The 7B provides four gold-plated binding posts with copper jumpers, allowing bi-wiring and bi-amping. Specified performance includes a frequency response of 35 Hz-22 kHz ±2 dB (-6 dB at 30 Hz), sensitivity of 86 dB at 2.83 V/1 m, nominal impedance of 6 Ω (4 Ω minimum), and recommended amplifier power of 50-350 W. Each speaker measures 43.0 × 8.5 × 15.5 inches (1092 × 216 × 394 mm, H×W×D) and weighs 95 lb (43 kg). In use, the 7B is widely regarded as offering neutral to slightly warm tonal balance, excellent transparency, precise imaging, and powerful, extended bass, making it suitable for both high-quality two-channel music and demanding home-theater systems.
