About the 10T

The Aerial Acoustics 10T is a three-way, ported floorstanding loudspeaker consisting of a substantial MDF bass cabinet and a separate, rotatable midrange/tweeter head made from Aerial’s dense Novalith stone composite. The bass enclosure uses 1–2 inch thick walls with extensive internal bracing for rigidity, while the Novalith head is cast as an inert, complexly faceted shape that minimizes baffle area around the drivers and reduces cabinet resonances. The driver complement is a 1" titanium-dome tweeter rear-loaded by a large multi-vented chamber, a 5.3" dual Kevlar/epoxy-laminated cone midrange, and a 10.7" bilaminate composite-cone woofer, all with cast frames, large magnet systems, long linear excursion, and high power handling. The crossover is a 24 dB/octave (Linkwitz-Riley–type) three-way network using high-quality parts such as polypropylene capacitors, air-core and nickel-steel–core inductors, heavy-gauge internal wiring, glass-fiber circuit boards, and gold-plated bi-wire terminals, designed for accurate amplitude and phase integration. The system is rated at approximately 28 Hz–20 kHz (–2 dB) with –6 dB around 23 Hz, nominal 4 ohm impedance (3 ohm minimum), and sensitivity around 86 dB (2.83 V/1 m). The midrange/tweeter module mounts on a steel post above the bass cabinet and can rotate through roughly 270 degrees to optimize imaging at the listening position. Overall performance is described as exceptionally accurate and natural, with outstanding bass authority and extension, articulate upper bass, clear and open midrange, and delicate, detailed treble, yielding high transparency, dynamics, and vivid 3D imaging. Typical dimensions are about 41.5" H × 13.75" W × 19" D, with total shipping weight around 190 lb when packed in multiple cartons. The speakers were commonly used with dedicated Sound Anchor bases designed specifically for the 10T and were offered in real-wood veneer finishes (often walnut with black-painted or dark-finished heads), supplied with matching grilles.
