About the GFT-555 mkII
The Adcom GFT-555 mkII tuner is designed for serious music lovers seeking high-quality FM stereo reception. It features 16 programmable presets (8 FM/8 AM), an FM Scan mode, and step tuning via Up and Down push-buttons. The tuner uses a low-loss printed circuit board and laboratory-grade components such as 1% Roederstein metal-film resistors and metal film capacitors in critical areas to minimize noise and distortion. Its improved RF section offers high resistance to overload, excellent image rejection, and exceptional signal-to-noise ratio. The IF section includes symmetrical skirt ceramic filters for enhanced selectivity. It supports high blend and mono modes for noise-free reception of weak FM signals. Buffered, low impedance class A outputs ensure optimal multiplex circuitry operation and maximum channel separation, with a rear panel switch for precise level matching with other source components. The front panel is simple and uncluttered for ease of use. The tuner operates on 120VAC/50-60Hz, consumes 10 watts, and weighs approximately 10.5 lbs. Dimensions are 17" x 11 3/8" x 3" (chassis). It is highly regarded for bringing in FM broadcasts that sound as good as the transmitted signal allows, addressing common FM stereo quality issues.
