The Adcom GFA-5503 is a three-channel power amplifier designed for audiophile and home theater use, featuring a highly regulated, single-ended Class A front-end for low distortion and high fidelity. It delivers 200 watts continuous average power per channel into 8 ohms and 350 watts into 4 ohms, with less than 0.18% total harmonic distortion across the full audio frequency range (20Hz to 20kHz). The amplifier uses precision-matched MOSFET output devices, providing a warm, tube-like sound with the dynamics and power needed for modern digital recordings. It includes a massive 2.0 kVA toroidal power transformer and 120,000µF of power supply filter capacitance for excellent current delivery and dynamic range. Each channel has independent power supplies and thermal protection with LED indicators. The amplifier features high-quality gold-plated RCA inputs and 5-way binding posts for speaker connections, and a damping factor greater than 700 ensures tight speaker control. The chassis is robust with powder-coated finish and large external heatsinks for effective cooling. It is made in the USA and weighs approximately 57 pounds (26 kg).
