About the ACE-515
The Adcom ACE-515 AC Enhancer, introduced around 1990, is a power conditioner and surge protector that improves audio and video system performance by providing clean, noise-free power. It features high power handling capability (up to 1800 watts total), surge, spike, RFI and EMI filtering, and uses Metal Oxide Varistors (MOVs) for fast transient protection. The unit has seven AC outlets (six switched with delay, one unswitched) arranged to support multiple components including amplifiers and source devices. It includes sophisticated delay circuitry to sequentially turn on and off components, preventing audible thumps and protecting equipment. The ACE-515 has two power cords: one for triggered power-up delay of amplifier outlets and another supplying power to all inlets. Its robust construction includes a heavy gauge steel chassis and anodized aluminum front panel. Dimensions are approximately 18" x 7" x 3" (430 x 150 x 76 mm) and it weighs about 10 lbs (2.7 kg). It operates on 120V AC ±20%, 50/60Hz. The unit is no longer manufactured but remains highly regarded for its reliability and effectiveness in power conditioning and protection for vintage and modern audio systems.
