About the S2X

The Adam Audio S2X is a professional active studio monitor designed for demanding audio production environments. It features a 7.5-inch HexaCone woofer with a 2-inch voice coil and a proprietary X-ART tweeter with a 4 inch² diaphragm area, delivering detailed and accurate sound reproduction from 35 Hz to 50 kHz. The woofer is powered by a 250 W PWM amplifier (350 W peak), while the tweeter uses a 50 W Class A/B amplifier (100 W peak). The monitor includes a front panel control with input sensitivity adjustment (-20 to +8 dB coarse, -1.5 to +2 dB fine), EQ controls for bass (0 to +6 dB at 80 Hz), low shelf and high shelf filters (±4 dB), and tweeter gain (±2 dB). Inputs include balanced XLR analog and optional digital AES/EBU, SPDIF, and word clock. The S2X offers a maximum SPL of ≥110 dB at 1 meter for sine waves and ≥120 dB per pair, with low distortion (THD ≤0.8% above 80 Hz). Its compact bass-reflex cabinet measures 14.5" x 8.5" x 12.5" (370 x 220 x 320 mm) and weighs 10.8 kg (23.8 lbs). The monitor comes with a 5-year warranty (2 years standard plus 3 years with registration). It is praised for its detailed dynamics, revealing subtle distortions and harmonics, making it suitable for mixing, mastering, and critical listening.
