About the Vadi
The AcousticPlan Vadi is a CD player designed to deliver an exceptionally natural and emotional sound, favored by audiophiles who appreciate analog-like tonal and temporal accuracy. It uses a robust CDPro2M drive for longevity and precision. The design intentionally avoids separating the digital-to-analog converter (DAC) from the drive to maintain optimal data flow without unnecessary SPDIF conversions. The output stage features a valve-based (tube) design with an E88CC valve and a self-built output transformer, eschewing coupling capacitors and negative feedback to preserve signal purity and balance. It offers both RCA and XLR analog outputs (with grounded XLR outputs), plus digital outputs via RCA (S/PDIF) and balanced XLR (AES/EBU). The Vadi includes a metal remote control compatible with other AcousticPlan devices. It weighs 19 kg including an external power supply and measures 260 x 170 x 350 mm. The frequency response is 20 Hz to 20 kHz with a signal-to-noise ratio exceeding 100 dB(A). The player supports CD and CD-R formats and is finished with a blue front plate and silver casing, with other finishes available on request. The Vadi is praised for its expressive, vivid sound that closely approaches live music reproduction, avoiding overly technical or overly smooth sound characteristics common in other players.
