About the AXIOM
The Acoustical Systems AXIOM is a 12" effective length tonearm with the mounting distance of a standard 9"-10" tonearm, designed and assembled entirely in Germany. It features a full dynamic and lateral balanced design with double nano-gimbal bearings made from aerospace-grade German nano instrumental ball bearings, mounted in a clean-room environment for minimal friction. The arm wand is a unique composite of carbide-hardened titanium and carbon fiber with internal liquid dampening to eliminate parasitic resonances. The internal wiring is pure silver litz with soft Teflon insulation, customizable on request. The AXIOM offers exclusive features such as on-the-fly vertical tracking force (VTF) non-touch adjustment during play, SRA adjustment independent of tonearm height, dynamic tunable effective moving mass (22-42g fixed mounting, 29-48g SME-bayonet), dynamic antiskating with exchangeable inserts for any tangential curve, and exchangeable counterweight inserts tuned to cartridge compliance to eliminate low-frequency resonance peaks. The bearing axis can be precisely leveled independently of the plinth with precision set screws. The mounting board, bearing houses, VTA tower, and headshell mounting are made from triple-tempered German duralumin and stainless steel, with a hardened stainless steel mounting plate and tungsten counterweight assembly. The AXIOM is It is acclaimed for its unmatched precision, resonance control, and musicality, representing over 30 years of research by designer D.D. Brakemeier.
