About the RL1
The Acoustic Revive RL-1 LAN Isolator is a compact high-frequency filter device intended to isolate and eliminate noise from Ethernet signal paths in audio systems. It is housed in a small plastic box measuring 79mm in length and weighing about 40 grams. Internally, it contains coils and isolation transformers with wiring made from ultra-pure single core PCOCC-A copper, the same as used in Acoustic Revive's LAN cables. The RL-1 is designed to reduce background noise and ground loop interference, resulting in a smoother, more delicate, and less fatiguing sound. However, it may cause some roll-off in the high-frequency range, which can slightly reduce the sense of air and excitement in the music. Placement and configuration affect its sonic impact, with some users preferring to connect it to the router rather than directly to the streamer to minimize high-frequency attenuation. The RL-1 is a plug-and-play device requiring no additional power supply or software, making it easy to integrate into existing network audio setups.
