About the AR XB1
The Acoustic Research AR XB1 is a two-speed belt-drive turntable introduced in the early 1970s. It features a hysteresis-synchronous motor for stable speed, a viscous-damped cue/pause control, and a plug-in cartridge shell for easy cartridge changes. The turntable is designed with a walnut-grained base and a transparent tinted plastic dustcover. It is recognized for meeting broadcast standards in performance and dimensions, except for start-up time. The AR XB1 is appreciated for its low rumble, accurate speed, and effective isolation from external vibrations. It was manufactured in England and is considered a collectible classic among vinyl enthusiasts.
