About the 2+2

The Acoustat 2+2 is a full-range electrostatic loudspeaker featuring four full-range electrostatic panels per side, arranged in a stacked configuration to improve vertical dispersion and reduce interference between panels. This design produces a radiating surface twice as high and half as wide as the Model Four, resulting in a tall speaker nearly 8 feet high that dominates the listening room visually. The speaker offers a frequency response from 28Hz to 20kHz ±2dB, nominal impedance of 4 ohms, power capability of 500W, and a maximum output of 115dB at 20 feet in a 16'x24' room. It requires a minimum power of 50W per channel and consumes 5W of AC power. The 2+2 is known for its open, airy, and quick high-end response, controlled and detailed bass, and seamless blending of frequency ranges due to the lack of a crossover. While not the most dynamically punchy speaker, it provides excellent stereo imaging and is highly revealing of source material, making it suitable for critical listening.
